Everything you need to know about how the membership works — with real examples.
Because nobody trains every single week — and that's completely normal. We all have holidays, half terms, bank holidays, the odd illness, and weeks where life just gets in the way. Most of the time sessions are rearranged around disruptions rather than lost. The 4 whole weeks of buffer built into the annual pricing cover what we can't move around.
The result is a fixed monthly payment that stays the same all year — no adjustments, no admin, no surprises. The membership is designed to keep you prioritising your wellbeing without having to think about it.
Your monthly payment is calculated by spreading your annual training cost equally across 12 months — so the number of weeks in any given month never changes what you pay.
Across the year it balances — and because sessions are rearranged wherever possible, many clients end up training more than the monthly payment strictly accounts for.
* Annual cost excludes any pause credits used by trainer or client. Actual cost is typically lower than the headline annual figure.
No. The per-session figure is simply how the monthly payment is calculated — it's not how you're billed. You don't have to count sessions (though you're welcome to) and neither do I. Buying block sessions doesn't incentivise consistency — the membership does.
You pay a fixed amount each month for a reserved slot, a coaching relationship, and a trainer invested in your long-term health and wellbeing. The pace, the focus and the plan are built around you — whether that's a physique transformation, a wellbeing goal, or simply staying fit and healthy with the flexibility to work around life's commitments, holidays and events.
Honestly, I'd be over the moon. If you're consistent enough that the 5-week months and rescheduled sessions tip the total above what the monthly payment accounts for, that means the coaching relationship is working exactly as it should.
Providing a genuinely good service, consistently, matters more to me than keeping score. The membership is designed to encourage consistency and make training as simple, flexible and sustainable as possible.
Yes. The system is designed so you're never paying more than the value of the training you receive.
In fact, three months is often a brilliant starting point. It's long enough to create meaningful change, build momentum and establish habits that can last a lifetime. Many clients begin with a specific physique or body composition goal, then continue because they realise the value of maintaining the progress they've worked hard to achieve.
If at any point you're not getting enough sessions in to make the membership worthwhile, that's worth an honest conversation. The 10-session package may simply be a better fit for your current schedule.
Rescheduling is always the first option — a week away doesn't automatically mean a week of missed training. We look at the weeks around it and fit sessions in where we can. In many cases, clients come back from a break having lost nothing at all — getting every session in and negating the need for the buffer entirely. With good rescheduling, it's entirely possible to benefit from what amounts to 4 weeks of additional training across the year that the monthly payment doesn't account for.
For anything that can't be rearranged, the 4-week buffer covers it. For a longer planned break of two weeks or more, the pause credit is there. Between rescheduling, the buffer, and the pause credit, the membership handles most of life's disruptions without you missing out on training.
Every member receives one pause credit per year, allowing you to take up to 4 weeks away from training without losing your regular slot.
In the month you go away, you pay for any training completed that month plus 50% of the following month's subscription. This activates your pause credit and reserves your slot while you're away. When you return, that 50% is deducted from your next bill.
The pause credit is designed to make holidays and planned time away simple and stress-free, while ensuring your space remains available when you're ready to continue. Two weeks' notice is required.
If you don't return as agreed, the pause credit is forfeited and the membership ends.
Between rescheduling, the 4-week buffer, your pause credit, virtual check-ins and daily messaging through the SSC app when you're away — the membership has a lot of flex built in before it becomes a problem.
If the membership genuinely can't accommodate your lifestyle, the 10-session package may be the best option. No monthly commitment, sessions whenever your diary allows, and the same coaching quality.
Once per year, up to two weeks. You'll always receive a minimum of four weeks notice so you can plan around it, and your monthly payment is adjusted proportionally for the period of unavailability. You will never pay for training that isn't being delivered. Where possible, sessions will be rearranged around planned time away — but if that isn't practical, the adjustment is made automatically.
Give as much notice as possible and we'll always look to find another slot. The more notice, the easier it is to rearrange — and rearranging is always the first option before any buffer or credit comes into play.
The membership is built on a coaching relationship, not a rigid timetable. Life happens on both sides and the model is designed to flex around it.
For membership clients, there is no formal cancellation policy for individual sessions. As much notice as possible is always appreciated — but genuine disruptions happen and that's understood. If we regularly can't train together, that means I'm not providing value and you're not getting the service you're paying for. Should that ever become the pattern, I'll be the first to raise an honest conversation about whether the membership is working practically for you — not to push you out, but to make sure you're achieving your goals.
For 10-session package clients, 48 hours notice is required to reschedule. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours notice or missed without notice are counted as used.
Virtual check-ins, calls and daily messaging through the SSC app mean the coaching doesn't stop when you leave the gym — even when you're away, your coach is still in your corner.
Two weeks' written notice is required. This isn't there to lock you in, but to ensure that stepping back from training is a considered decision rather than a reaction to a busy week or a temporary loss of motivation.
Reducing your reliance on personal training over time is a perfectly healthy ambition, but it should be a mindful transition that protects the progress you've worked hard to achieve. Two weeks gives us time to discuss your next steps and put a plan in place.
You should never feel trapped here, but you should feel that your coach has your back, even when you're considering ending your membership.
